About
Alexandria Mackie is a self taught artist based in Edmonton, Alberta. She is known for her creation of contemporary mountain landscapes with calming colours and expressive, layered, strokes. She paints primarily with Golden heavy body acrylics - using brushes, palette knives, and carving tools, however she has also experimented by adding in cement and drywall compound into her work as well for a more dimensional feel.
As a child, Alex was always caught with a pencil and sketchbook wherever she went. She spent her childhood skiing, camping, and spending time in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta and British Columbia while growing up in her hometown of Edmonton, Alberta. It wasn’t until 2020 that she first decided to pick up a palette knife and paint brush - and her style was born.
Her positivity and vivacious energy shine through in each of her paintings. Connecting her lifelong love for the mountains and her unique palette knife style, the results are truly dynamic contemporary mountain landscapes. With a collector base across Alberta and internationally, Alexandria revels in seeing her art bring joy to others.
